Pies, that is. Or cakes. Whatever you want to call them, I simply had to try making them. So, of course, I bought a book. Then I got baking.
I thought I'd try the original style first. Chocolate is always a safe bet.
I even made the marshmallow creme filling. That was a bit more of a problem. It was too runny to begin with, and despite the recipe offering golden syrup as an option, I'm pretty sure that 'light corn syrup' is actually glucose syrup. It tastes good anyway, and a bit more beating improved the consistency.
