Abby's Christmas Dress

Made from a vintage layette pattern, this slip dress is fully lined and made from a remnant. I got my mother-in-law to make a nappy cover to go under it - I would have done it myself, but only finished the dress on Christmas morning.

Teenage Chicks

The chicks are at that awkward stage where they're half feathers and half fluff....

Lasagna

I've been waiting for my new kitchen to be able to make lasagna - an all time favourite! I finally managed it on Tuesday, and it was so good!

Chicks

While we were in hospital for the hatching of our little chick, we allowed the clucky Tilly to sit on some eggs.
Eventually, Peri kicked her off the nest and took over, but a few weeks ago, we ended up with 8 chicks!

Spring has sprung!

Spring arrived while we were in hospital having Abby.
I came home to find our apple and pear trees suddenly had leaves
(and now the apples have blossoms)

And we don't know what this is. It should have been either broccoli or Brussels sprouts, but appears to be growing beans...

Announcing Abigail Susannah

Born September 24 2014 at 14:24 after an induced labour, Abigail Susannah weighed 3.084kg (6lb12oz) and measured 48cm long with a head circumference of 32cm. She is just perfect, and we, along with our families, are absolutely besotted.

Professional pics

Andrew and I had a professional pregnancy photo shoot when I was 38 weeks pregnant. We love the results and are looking forward to having newborn photos taken.

40 weeks

Taken on September 22, my due date, with my sister-in-law who was 22 weeks pregnant!

Hello! An Update

I've been missing for much longer than I'd realised! Unfortunately, the power cord for the computer died and I've been using my phone for internet access. While writing blog posts on the phone is possible, it's much harder, so I haven't been doing it.
I'm now 38 weeks pregnant, so Lightbulb is due very soon.
The kitchen is coming along nicely, at last, but there's no way it will be finished before the baby arrives. Stress!
The Winter veggies have finally decided to take off, now that it's Spring, and we're suddenly getting more eggs than we know what to do with.

Brownies

I used this recipe with Crabbie's Orange Spiced Ginger Beer, and one of our blood oranges. I'm a bit disappointed - they're not very chocolatey, but you can't taste the other flavours either. On the upside, I made them gluten free, and that worked fine.

A Bunch of Threes

Yesterday was July 13. Which means that Andrew and I have been together for 13 years and 3 months and married for 3 years and 3 months. It also means that I'm 30 weeks pregnant, which is 3/4 of the way.

Baby Shower

Last weekend, we had my baby shower. It's a bit early, but Sarah, my mini-me cousin was down from Canberra, and I wanted her to be there since it was possible.

The food was amazing. I made chocolate brownies. Jill made the giant neenish tart - I made a special request, because I love neenishes. Mishka made rosewater marshmallows and sponge cake. Mum made scones, and sausage rolls and toffeed popcorn. I'd be very surprised if anyone didn't overindulge!

Jill and I (and Mum) hate most baby shower games, so instead, we had people decorating singlets for Lightbulb. I'm a bit disappointed that not everyone did it, but the results are fantastic.

With my honorary sister-in-law, just showing off the growing belly.
Jill knitted this hat in the newborn size. Something tells me that the sizing is a little wonky...

Lightbulb is very spoiled with this HUGE pile of presents! I feel like we're both very loved.
